Now that NYC repealed the Cabaret Law, which the the NYC Hospitality Alliance successfully advocated for, our next campaign is to have the City create a panel of expert stakeholders to conduct a citywide review of the Zoning Resolution, and submit recommendations to the Mayor and City Council, for additional areas where dancing should be permitted.

Now that NYC repealed the Cabaret Law, which the NYC Hospitality Alliance successfully advocated for, our next campaign is to have the City remove dancing from the Zoning Resolution. Many restaurants, bars and clubs are still not permitted to have dancing or entertainment under current zoning regulations. We have continued to advocate, and now a resolution was proposed in the City Council calling to end the city’s zoning laws over dancing and entertainment, so establishments would be regulated based on capacity of venue, rather than zoning. We will continue to advocate for this resolution to be adopted.
