Submit Outdoor Dining Designs

The NYC Hospitality Alliance is sharing an important opportunity with designers, architects, restaurateurs, and others to inform the future of outdoor dining structures in the five boroughs. 

In collaboration with the Alfresco NYC Coalition, NYCxDESIGN’s Design Corps, Design Advocates, and NYC agencies, American Institute of Architects New York is producing a series of workshops that seek to directly influence the future of New York City’s permanent Open Restaurants program.

We encourage you to submit your ideas and work, highlighting innovative designs, materials, and methodologies that can inform design policy for the city’s program.

Submitted projects will be reviewed and assessed during the workshops, allowing participants to discern design considerations for outdoor structures. These discussions may inform a recommendation report produced by Alfresco NYC, part of the city’s public engagement plan for Open Restaurants, which will ultimately influence the draft of official design guidelines for the program.
